Symbol
Symbol
In tandem with the CSU Signature, the Ram’s Head Symbol is Colorado State University’s primary mark. While it can be used as a standalone element, it should always be used with the CSU Signature or a Unit ID where possible. The Symbol is available in four versions.

Reverse (one-color, dark background)
The reverse symbol includes a white Ram’s Head. This version should only be used when printing in one-color on a dark background. The most common use for this version is for swag.
*The PDF will show as a white page, but can be opened in Adobe and Microsoft programs.
Black (one-color, light background)
The black symbol includes a black background with the Ram’s Head masked out. This version should only be used when printing in one-color on a light background. Where possible, this should be printed in Pantone 357. If 357 is not an option, the symbol may be printed in black. The most common use for this version is for swag.
Application
The Ram’s Head Symbol should always be applied to a clean and contrasting background.

When applying the Ram’s Head Symbol over a photo or other design element, select the Primary or Secondary versions of the symbol, rather than the reversed one-color, so that photos/design elements do not show through the Ram’s Head.

Do not place photos or other design elements inside the Ram’s Head Symbol.

The following applications of the Ram's Head Symbol are not compliant:

Size
To maintain legibility, the Ram’s Head Symbol may not appear less than 0.4 inches in size.

Clear Space
When using the Ram’s Head Symbol by itself, it must be surrounded on all sides by clear space equal to the width of the face of the ram. No graphic or text should impede on the clear space.
